About Us

Since 1969, two generations of the Dunbabin family have run Mayfield, farming sheep for wool in one of the world’s most renowned super-fine wool growing regions.

After a successive drought on the east coast, in 2010 Bruce decided to diversify into grapes. For the past 6 years, grapes from the 6 hectares of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were destined for a premium Australian sparkling wine. Now, these grapes go into creating five distinctive wine varieties produced by Mayfield Estate. More recent vineyard plantings include Pinot Gris and Shiraz and have increased the vineyard to 9 hectares in size.

Our Cellar Door completed in 2022 is situated to make the most of the magnificent views: facing the bays dramatic entrance at Schouten Passage, looking north as far as the golden strand of Dolphin Sands and south to Majestic Maria Island and the Tasman Sea.

Come share the beginning of a new journey for Mayfield inspired by the infinite beauty of Great Oyster Bay
